This project will be in a junior level World History class. The Holocaust fits well into the course because it ties something that involves world history into something very personal - a war that the U.S. was deeply rooted in. This project will involve aspects of English because of the writing and research involved. Formatting and formally writing an article in an appropriate way can be covered in a corresponding junior English course. Also, citing sourcing correctly can be covered in the English course.
Going into this lesson, the students will have an understanding of journalistic writing, citing sources, and a historical basis of the Holocaust and WWII. This way, they will be able to effectively get their message and topic across by combining research, historical knowledge, and writing skills.
